S.O.S – Save Our Skin!!!! Ever look at your skin and realize how dull it is? Girl me too!! Melaninated people suffer from hyperpigmentation, discoloration and a variety of other skin conditions like eczema, acne spots and uneven skin tone just to name a few. It can be a challenge to know where to start with treating your skin issues.
I am looking for ways to have better skin and to have a routine that works for me. After doing research I found a few brands that seem like it’s worth the try. On my youtube channel Jasmyne Flowers I put together a Skin Care Routine for 2021 with brands that include buttah., Native Atlas, Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub and a brand that I’m already familiar with EcoLips.
Buttah., is made for black skin so its definitely for me. Dorian Renaud, a black man, is the founder of this beauty brand, making products specifically for melanin rich skin to address our needs and produce radiant, healthy skin.
Native Atlas is a company that uses globally sources simple and clean ingredients in their beauty brand. I was sent two of their Universal Roll oils (OMNIS and NAIROBI) from a representative from their PR firm Six-One, because I had written about the brand in an article for I Hear That Girl . I really love their social justice stance and their dedication to producing healthy products.
I literally walked in TJ MAXX and found a discounted Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub. I saw it was cruelty free and free of harmful ingredients so I had to try it. Its incredibly moisturizing and removes all the dry skin from the lips.
I use to be a vasoline-on-this-lips kind of girl for years until I realized that petroleum actually can be harmful. I made the switch to the Non-GMO brand EcoLips and I love love love it.
