It’s that time of year! Covid or nah, the Super Bowl is still taking place. Yes, we’ve had to make some changes to how things unfold, but the show MUST go on. And of course the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will roll on as well. The hilariously funny, National Radio & TV Personality, Rickey Smiley will return as the host of the celebration of praise and worship. Rickey will be joined by a slew of gospel celebrities and NFL pro’s.
Dallas Cowboy QB, Dak Prescott, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB, Tom Brady, have joined the All-Star lineup of NFL players set to appear on the 22nd Annual Celebration this Saturday to congratulate Houston Texans QB, Deshaun Watson on receiving this year’s “Faith In Action” Award. Watson will be honored for his philanthropic work to support under-served youth and families. Celebrated NFL running back Warrick Dunn will present the award to Watson during the broadcast.
There will also be performances by the NFL Players Choir, John P. Kee, Kierra Sheard, Voices of Fire presented by Pharrell Williams,Erica Campbell, PJ Morton, Koryn Hawthorne and Zacardi Cortez.
In collaboration with the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, the American Cancer Society will highlight the need to eliminate barriers to prevention and treatment in the black community during the broadcast. Viewers will be encouraged to donate during the show by texting HOPE to 20222 to donate $10 to the American Cancer Society. The 22nd Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will air on BET during Super Bowl LV weekend on Saturday, February 6th at 8/7c.
