Lifford is a certified phenom in the acting and film industry. Her talent and authenticity is being recognized even further as she personifies the role of “Aunt Vi” on OWN Network’s TV series “Queen Sugar”. Her recurring role as the powerful CIA Director in Shonda Rhimes show Scandal exemplified that she was up to the task of taking authority in her roles on and off screen.
In response that media production led by women of color is experiencing a renaissance, she remarked that what we are actually witnessing is a “new day”. Black Women creators like Issa Rae, Shonda Rhimes, Kimberly “Isis” Thomas and others have emerged to the forefront in creating content that provides better representation of our truths. Platforms like BronzeLens showcase excellence by creators that we don’t often get to see. BronzeLens was definitely right on to honor the talent and contribution Tina Lifford is providing to the media industry. Kudos to them!
