Remember when “Me” time consisted of going to a nice restaurant and spa? When you could leave the house and not feel paranoid or wear a mask? Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are now living the “New Normal” and it has changed our lives tremendously. We can no longer find peace outside our home. Home is now work, school, restaurant, and hair salon.
So how do you stay sane during such a crazy time in life? How can you keep your cool when you cant escape? I think the most impactful advice i can give is to not look at your home as if its a jail. Your home is truly your sanctuary. When you consider how busy your life normally its a blessing that you no longer have 101 errands to run. The family dinners that you didn’t have time for are now a perfect way to spend an evening.
The New Normal is a Season of Appreciation. We work hard for our homes yet barely spend time in them. We love our family but after work and extracurricular activities we are too exhausted to enjoy our loved ones. This is our chance to stop and, “smell the roses”. So, yes our lives are different but they aren’t over. in this Season of Appreciation we can find peace by slowing down and enjoying the everyday blessings that we often take for granted.
