Finding The Creative Spaces: Restaurant 10

I’m a creative.  Creatives desire spaces that give us ease and focus.  A few Sundays ago, the weather was so amazing, I just had to get out and enjoy it.  My roommate, April and I decided to make it a “Productivity Day”, so we packed up our laptops and headed to a location where we could sit several hours, work, chat, and collaborate in a cozy environment.

We made our first stop at Rosie’s near the Mercedes Benz stadium.  I’d heard about this location on rapper/community-activist, TI’s Instagram page.  He posted it following the Starbuck’s boycott as an alternative restaurant we could patronize that is black-owned and treats us with respect.

The vibe there is bustling, but not quite what we were looking for.  This is where you go when you want to get your grub on and enjoy family and friends.  I will DEFINITELY be returning with my siblings next weekend!  We were heading out the door when the waitress stopped us and asked why we were leaving (I love that extra concern at the door <3).  I told her we were looking for a place to do some work as well as munch and she directed us to their sister establishment, Restaurant 10.

We took the short walk down the street to the spot.  It had plenty of space and outlets available for us to plug in, settle in, and get to work.  We took our seats in the far corner so that we wouldn’t be too distracted and set up our workspace.  Our waitress, Shay, was so helpful and cordial to us as we signed into the free wi-fi.  I took a look at the menu and while no coffee is served there, the menu was filled with lunch munchables.

We definitely weren’t expecting the soul cuisine on the menu as we thought it was just going to be bar food, but happily selected the greens, cornbread muffins, mac and cheese, and yams.  The food was filling, the customer service was excellent, and the space is perfect for creative minds.  Music from Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, and more R&B favorites played overhead, while at the bar, many enjoyed watching the basketball game on the screens.

After spending 4 super productive hours in the restaurant, banging out several blog posts, we decided to leave and head back home.  I would definitely visit this spot again and I encourage you to give it a try the next time you’re in the Atlanta area.  You can’t miss it, it’s just a stone’s throw away from the Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Until next time… Let’s see where our next stop takes us.  Of course, it will be black owned and perfect for the creative!
