The creator and director is Meg Deloatch. She specifically chose all black writers to ensure the viewers saw a realistic portrayal of a black family. The same consideration was taken to choose the right cast to bring life to the scripts. I was excited to see Tia Mowry (Cocoa McKellan) Loretta Devine (M’Dear) , and Richard Roundtree (grandpa) casted as headliners of this series
