‘Captain Marvel 2’ Set To Be Directed By Nia DaCosta

Screenwriter and Director Nia DaCosta who directed the much anticipated reboot of the horror thriller ‘Candyman‘ is also set to direct Marvel’s sequel to ‘Captain Marvel‘.

Marvel has been meeting with Directorial candidates for the past few months, because it likes to switch up Directors for it’s different franchises to give each one a fresh take.

According to Deadline, DaCosta seemed to have the edge over the multiple directors who were courted for the position. Her work with film in the Thriller genre is critically acclaimed. DaCosta always knew she wanted to be a Writer, but eventually got into film making and now she is making a huge splash in the industry.

The first installment of ‘Captain Marvel‘ was released in March 2019 and it grossed $1.13 billion worldwide. Accordingly, this turn will be one of the biggest-budgeted films to be directed by Black female director. Nia DaCosta is making waves!

We are definitely excited to see what she is bringing to the table and what her latest projects will be.
