Brandy and Monica Beat The Machine

As we come into this new month, the takeaway from Brandy and Monica’s legendary Verzuz battle could be that it’s time to move differently. To keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity.

As I watched with over one million fans, I saw two different women that had evolved into their womanhood and their own style, not the young teens that we’re claiming “the boy was theirs”. As vibrant, GROWN women and artists, the consensus was if it’s not love I don’t have time for it, and more claiming ownership over their art was the new narrative.

No time wasting in 2020, whether it’s in love or career pursuits.

While people we’re trying to pit the two young superstars against each other, and they were dealing with navigating “the industry”. It’s great to see both of them arise as the victors and claim their own voices.

The lesson here is that, if you want freedom: it’s you that has to break the cycle. If you want different, you have to move different. Be intentional about excellence. Your level up is on you!

If the quality of life you’re experiencing is not working for you, “Like This and Like you gotta move along!” If you “Wanna be down, with your come up?” Change the narrative. Tell those struggles bye. Tell those insecurities bye, tell that fake love and your bad habits bye, intentionally!

Shout out to Brandy and Monica for showing us all that we can level up on our own terms! They are BOTH the winners in my book!
