One of the many perks of being a blogger, is that you get to try out amazing products and services to share with your followers. Out of the tons of things that are sent my way, there are a few things that I actually rave about or feel you guys would even utilize. Recently, I was given the opportunity to jet around town in the nifty 2016 Mitsubishi Mirage. The vehicle they dropped off to me was what I called, “The Gecko Car”, aptly named for its lime green appearance, lol.
I had plenty of events to cover that weekend including the Bronner Bros. Mid Summer Hair Show. Driving back and forth around downtown Atlanta was done with ease and I always found a parking spot! 😉 And the gas mileage…AMAZING! This car gets 40-44 mpg using the Eco drive functionality. You can imagine my giddiness. Driving the Mirage felt more like I was in a Matchbox car. It’s only a 2 cylinder vehicle, so you can feel like you’re putting around especially on the highways. This was my first time in a small compact car like this, so it took some getting used to. I started the night out with the opening night movie, Straight Outta Compton. A night out with friends, good food, and a great movie was the perfect way to begin my busy weekend plus it gave me an opportunity to test out the Gecko.
Later, we picked up my partner’s niece, Brittany. She’s a freshman college student from Arkansas. Even with all three of us and luggage in the car, it was still roomy and I heard no complaints from the back seat. One of my favorite options on the car was the rear camera and the bluetooth capability. After a couple of stops in the Mitsubishi Mirage, Brittany, agreed with me that this car has all the amenities you need and makes for a great starter car. I tried to get her uncle to jump on board and purchase it for her…he gave me a serious side eye! However, I gave her the deets on the vehicle so she could share with her mom. A starter car with the bells and whistles that this car had for under $17,000? Yes! The Mitsubishi Mirage is a winner!
There is seriously more than meets the eye when talking about this car. It’s a small package, but honestly, if you’re a single person like me or a college student like Brittany, this car makes so much sense! It’s affordable, saves tons on gas, and is just big enough to carry everything you need. In a time where abundance seems to be the standard, this car whittles away unnecessary options to show you exactly what is important.
I really enjoyed my time trying out the 2016 Mitsubishi Mirage. It helped me realize that simplicity can be just as, if not more, enjoyable than the over abundance we are faced with daily.
