Deborah Cox Returns With Single “More Than I Knew”

More-Than-I-KnewDeborah Cox re-record some of Whitney Houston’s greatest hits for Lifetime’s Whitney biopic, and did an outstanding job. So of course many people were  thrilled to learn that the wife and mom of two was in the lab working on her sixth studio album Work of Art.

Often times, when artists return after a lengthy hiatus, they dramatically alter their sound to the point where their music becomes unrecognizable to their core audience. Thankfully, Deborah hasn’t done that—at least judging by her new single she hasn’t.

The 40-year-old songbird recently premiered ballad “More Than I Knew,” which tells the unfortunate story of a woman who didn’t realize what she had in a former lover until it was too late. At the same time, she questions whether or not she made the right decision when she chose to leave what seemed to be a bad situation at the time. It’s absolutely beautiful and just may cause you to shed a tear if you’ve ever found yourself in a similar situation.
