Bey, Jay, & Blue Ivy…a Real Family

Beyonce, Jay Z and Blue Ivy look a happy family unit as the view art iAfter Beyonce’s lyric change on the song “Resentment” during a Cincinnati tour stop, the talk has been rampant about apparent issues in the House of Bey.  Of course, it seems that everyone is eager to see signs of disaster in what is perceived as a perfect family.  My opinion…what is so wrong with them, (Jay & Bey), having a marriage that exudes a perception of happiness, contentment, and appreciation for one another?  Shouldn’t we be applauding them each step of the way?  The recent posts on Beyonce’s Instagram of her family life, caused me to pause for a moment.  The media is claiming this is apparently damage control to ease the gossip/rumor mill of distress in the marriage.
To that, I say this:  “What family doesn’t have distress?”  Thanks Bey!  Your posts have reignited my love for family.  All the ups, downs, and sideways of it all.  Those still quiet moments with people that love you emphatically, far outweigh all the craziness of the world.  We should cherish those moments, cling to them, and use them as inspiration whenever the waves get rocky.  What do you think?  Is this an attempt at damage control?

Reputation management? After setting tongues wagging with some cryptic lyric changes on the Cincinnati leg of her On the Run tour, Beyonce has sent another message to her fans—this time in the form of some happy family photos of herself, Jay Z and toddler Blue Ivy, 2, visiting an art installation in New York.

Rumors of domestic strife were rife after Beyonce changed the lyrics to her song “Resentment” on Saturday, June 28, leading fans to conclude she could be alluding to a cheating scandal behind-the-scenes.

“Been ridin’ with you for 12 years. Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?” Queen Bey sang to the packed Ohio crowd, rather than the song’s original lyric, “Been ridin’ with you for six years.” The A-list couple have been together for 12 years.

But in an apparent attempt to neutralize the gossip, the mom-of-one posted some cute pictures of her family on her website on Wednesday, July 2, captioned, “My Life.”

Although the family’s faces are not shown, the snaps capture a private moment as the trio visit artist Kate Walker‘s art installation, “A Subtlety,” at Brooklyn’s Sugar Factory. Beyonce, 32, wears a pretty floral dress and in the first picture, stands next to husband Jay Z, 44, who is holding their daughter as they observe the sculpture (a 35ft depiction of a sphinx-like African American woman, modeled entirely from sugar).

In the second picture, the “XO” singer carries daughter Blue, who appears to have fallen asleep on her shoulder, while dad Jay Z lays a tender hand on his daughter’s back.

The family has been under close scrutiny ever since Jay Z’s elevator drama, when Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles attacked him physically as wife Beyonce watched on, whilst making their way to a Met Gala afterparty in New York’s Standard Hotel. The fight, caught on CCTV camera, instantly went viral.

But evidently not too distracted by the online furor her lyric changing had created, Beyonce spent her Wednesday not only uploading pictures of her seemingly-happy family unit, but also painting Blue’s finger nails.
