Urban One Honors: Women Leading the Change

This year’s Urban One Honors theme of ‘Women Leading the Change’ commemorated the myriad achievements of women leaders who are blazing trails and creating new pathways for others in their respective areas of expertise.

I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the most world-renowned, international artists, Mrs. Erica Campbell. If you do not know who this beauty is, she’s a gospel artist who has been in the industry for over twenty years, creating hits such as ‘Just A Little More Jesus’, ‘I Luh God’ plus so many more. Erica will be hosting this year’s Urban One Honors alongside Ronald Martin. The show will air on May 16th at 9PM ET/8CT.

This year’s theme is “Women Leading the Change”, honoring black women and their immaculate accomplishments. Black women have been put on the back burner for so long and I’m thrilled that we are not only being recognized for our great successes, but we’re also creating our own spaces and understanding that we don’t need validation for our works. We are the validation. We have always been innovators. We ARE the blueprint.

Featuring special performances by Jazmine Sullivan, Da Brat, Avery Sunshine, Le’Andria Johnson, Kim Burse and the KB Players, and more! This years 2021 Urban Honors will truly showcase women leading the change.

I hope you guys enjoy it! Again, be sure to check out Urban One Honors on May 16th at 9PM. You guys be sure to also check out the very last interview by DMX that will be premier before the show airs (8PM).
