The Secret Life Of Stretch Marks

The Secret Life Of Stretch Marks

Embrace them or ignore them, almost every woman’s body has them. Often signifying the path of growth into womanhood, the relationship with these deep definitions truly makes an impact. Let’s explore the secret life of stretch marks.

A woman must look perfect, stretch marks are yikes! But they don’t know, you’re just a tigress who earned her golden stripes. – Tanvi Verma

Because of rapid growth of the demis, scarring typically appears during puberty, pregnancy or weight gain. The severity of the hue of the scars depends on the body’s cortisone level, which can impact the elasticity of the skin. Although creams, oils and procedures such as microdermabrasion and laser treatments have been suggested as remedies to lessen or to get rid of stretch marks, there is no concrete evidence of anything working enough to the complete removal of them.

In the world of self-acceptance and body positivity, bloggers, celebrities and every day women have embarked on a journey of self-love and unlearning beauty standards that have caused harm. Beauty standards have made it difficult for us to accept these lines of life. As a result of seeing images of smooth, unblemished skin some women have developed toxic self-esteem traits where they shame their own bodies for its natural state. However women are saying NO MORE!!!

While the secret life of stretch marks will continue to be a conversation almost every woman will have in her lifetime, how each will tackle it will be very different.
