Thanksgiving, a Beauty Self-Care Holiday!!

Let’s put a remix on things and recognize the Thanksgiving holiday as an opportunity for self-care. Every year on Thanksgiving we give ourselves permission to overeat, sleep all day, shop Black Friday deals; why not give ourselves the authority to focus on the self-care of beauty too.

Whether you’re planning on showing up to the feast function looking full-beat fierce or as a bare-faced baddie or even if you’ll be spending the day avoiding awkward political and personal questions by staying home, here are a few beauty self-care tips you’ll be sure to love.

buttah.

Buttah, nope not an ingredient that will be part of many of the dishes in the Thanksgiving feast but Buttah, the black-owned skin care brand created to give melaninated skin all the attention that it deserves, is a brand you should know about. From the Rose Water Toner to the Cocoashea Revitalizing Cream they have products that will keep your skin glowing and healthy.

One of my favorite products is Laneige – Lip Sleeping Mask. Now, a moment of transparency, someone gifted this to my sister who gifted it to me and it took me a few moths to use this product because honestly I had forgotten about it and when I finally used it I was so upset that I had not used it sooner. No product has ever left my lips so soft and moisturized as much as the Lip Sleeping Mask. This is a must have. Tip: the label reads Lips Sleeping Mask but it can be worn all day as well.

Sometimes when I want to feel a little glamorous, my go-to is always a vibrant lipstick, it instantly transforms me from blah to rock star. Aboni Cosmetics was built to disrupt the norm and has some of the most unique lipstick colors in the beauty industry. These 24 hour matte lipsticks are definitely the perfect icebreakers when you meet your new boyfriend’s family and they admire your lipstick this Thanksgiving. Try Frenchie, it’s one of my favorite shades from Aboni Cosmetics.
