People are in your life for a season, a reason, a lifetime. We’ve all heard that quote before. And to be honest, I get it and understand it. However, what if that seasonal relationship is really fun and enjoyable? Why does it have to end? And how do you deal with the transition?
Is it possible to skip a season? Like seriously, no one wants to invest time into something that doesn’t reap a reward. And you honestly have to question those situations as: did I waste my time? Spring is necessary for Summer, Summer to Fall, and Fall to Winter. So the mindset has to change to understand what are you gaining in this season.
Full circle moments are included in seasonal relationships. It can be a taxing feeling emotionally when you feel like all you are accumulating are seasonal experiences. That’s when you need to get creative and look deeper to reveal the relationships that have or are becoming lifetime relationships. Last week’s podcast episode of The Dope Black Chick tackles the “Growing Pains” of navigating life through all of these various stages of relationships.
Seasonal relationships are good while they last, and honestly painful when they end. However, the way you perceive that ending will determine how you handle the transition into your next season of growth. When your mind processes what you gained in that encounter as a win versus a loss, no matter how minute or obscure the win is, you will savor that season and always have a fond appreciation of the experience.
