Dope Beauty Bar

HBO’s 2 Dope Queens Host “Dope Beauty Bar” In Atlanta

A year ago I decided to listen to a 2 Dope Queens episode to see what all the hype was all about. It was a special episode that featured Levar Burton. It was interesting. 2 Dope Queens, the podcast hosted by Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams returned for its 2nd season as an HBO special Friday, February 8th. To celebrate the return of the special, HBO hosted the “2 Dope Queens Dope Beauty Bar” in Atlanta this past Saturday at Snob Life.

I was on site with IHearThatGirl.com for an amazing time of empowerment and pampering. The event definitely served up the “royal treatment”. Guests were treated to free manicures, facials, massages, eyebrow threading and gourmet treats on a platter.

The event hosted by Tahira Joy with sounds by DJ Traci Steele featured panels on Black Female Entrepreneurship, Self Love, Health & Wellness and more. Getting my nails polished while simultaneously getting my crown polished. made for a great experience. The “Polish Your Crown” panel featured Real Estate Maven Brandi Hunter-Lewis and Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam. The ladies discussed the importance of staying focused and motivated with lessons from their own experiences.

Soo I met Keshia Knight Pulliam . . . love the                           wisdom she shared.

Another thing that made the event exceptional was the friendliness of the staff. They were helpful and cordial, not pompous or overbearing like other similar events I’ve attended. The Dope Beauty Bar was more than an event, it was an experience. I really felt like a Queen while I was there. I’ve never seen a 2 Dope Queens episode aired on HBO, but if it’s anything like the experience at the ‘Dope Beauty Bar’ then I will be watching it religiously.
