I’ve been trying to rehab my health for quite some time now. And if you’ve been following my blog for a while, I’m sure you know my struggle. Nothing seems to stick! However, I think I’ve found a solution to my problem and everything is coming up green.
In 2016, I suffered a bilateral pulmonary embolism. I have been recovering ever since. I didn’t think it would be this hard but it truly has been an uphill battle. I’ve had my stints of hitting the gym regularly, but with my hormone fluctuations (hypothyroidism) fatigue comes on so strong, it stops me from having the energy to stay consistent.
I’m dealing with regulating my blood pressure, balancing my hormones, and weight gain. Of course, daily exercise is beneficial, but let’s be honest… I don’t make it to the gym each day. I also don’t feel like working out at home either. Why? Cause I’s tired boss! This is a common issue that many women face in trying to transition into a healthy lifestyle.
However, I know it is possible. I’ve done it before and I can do it again. This time, I’m starting within. My first step is to introduce more fruits and vegetables into my diet. I want to have a 70/30 ratio of veggies to meat. I’ve been doing this now for about two weeks and I actually don’t miss the animal meats much. My favorite way of getting veggies is through smoothies. They’re delicious and can pack a punch with tons of veggies blended right in.
I’ve also added a secret weapon to boost my veggie intake in my smoothies. It’s the Organic LIVfit Superfood Blend with Protein. You just add a couple spoonfuls of this stuff to your smoothie and it’s like adding an extra serving and a half of veggies to your day. It also works great in spaghetti sauce or chili.
It’s a staple in my Green Queen Super Smoothie:
2 cups Spinach
1 cup Almond Milk
1.5 cup Apple Cranberry Juice
.5 cup Strawberries (whole)
.5 cup Mangoes (chunked)
2 spoons of LIVfit
Mix the spinach and the liquids to the consistency you desire. Then add in the fruits and blend. Finally, blend in two scoops of the BFit.
This is a great start to your day and it’s super filling. I like to have one for breakfast and lunch, followed by a light dinner. The result in just two weeks is clearer skin and a couple pounds lost. Not too shabby, eh?
What are some things you’re doing differently to live healthier? Comment below, I’d love to hear any ideas… I’m trying to live for at least 40 more years! Anything longer than that… maybe. I just don’t want to be paying bills forever, lol. Uncle Sam has gotten enough of me!
