Dating App for Black Women Makes Finding Love Attainable

Dating life in the apps-mosphere is hard. Especially for Black Women. Fed up with a lack of quality prospects on dating apps, this Black HBCU grad created an exclusive dating app for professional Black women and the relationship-minded singles seeking to date them.

Naza Shelley was tired of wasting time swiping through mountains of incompatible matches and going on disappointing first dates. She was also unable to find a dating service that catered to women like her, especially during COVID-19.

Dating App Algorithm

More Black Women are using dating apps and discovering the app algorithms aren’t prioritizing their needs. Due to racial bias, social stereotypes, and mainstream beauty standards, Black women are often ranked less attractive and desirable to date.

For us, by us.

From these frustrations, CarpeDM was born. Together with her best friend from Howard Law School, they created CarpeDM, personalized dating service for Black professional women. CarpeDM serves its members high-quality matches from a community of qualified, vetted, and verified singles looking to date amazing Black women.

Naza wanted to build a product that serves a consumer base she is passionate about, that she identifies with, and that truly needs attention and solutions. As one of the youngest and most decorated attorneys in DC, Naza decided to leave at the peak of her career to conquer the dating space.

It truly takes one to know one. Thankfully, we have Naza Shelley leading the way for Black Women. Helping to make love attainable for us all. From my own personal experience in the dating app realm, shits hard. For real.
