After the 2018 primary election, there is no denying that history was made across the country. There was a blue wave and thanks to all who went out to vote with a purpose of revolutionary change, we were able to win the House of Representatives.
With the Midterm elections around the corner and the importance of Democrats having control over Congress, black women filling these seats will finally lead to change for us by us.
While the heart knows no color, the reality of the situation is that every time a successful Black man marries and raises a family with a white woman, there is one less likely chance that a black woman will marry a black man.
It’s important that we discuss situations such as these from an open perspective and not an entitled one. The entitled perspective will say, “Violence is not the answer.”
Age-ism is real and it affects women tremendously in general. Add race to that, and you can see why it was so disappointing to hear this type of rhetoric. I’m a woman. A black woman.
