3 Things We Hope to See Tackled in Dear White People Season 3

Netflix’s “Dear White People” has served as a contribution to the black American cultural experience narrative. It has tackled cultural appropriation, blatant racism, and white privilege with ease, while sparking great dialogue on these oft overlooked issues.

The last two seasons have touched and discussed many of the primary issues that black Americans deal with such as cultural appropriation, blatant racism at the hands of authority, white privilege, so on and so forth. With this coming season unveiling the black secret society, here are some things we’d like to see tackled:

Black people deserve our space! We shouldn’t feel like we have to always share it. Since space, privacy, freedom, or our own bodies, hasn’t been something that has belonged to us in the past. If you really want to see progress, leave us alone… really! Our economic power being understood and utilized, this would be a great angle to cover, as we are seeing more and more black americans are using this power collaboratively. Let’s talk about this so-called “Allyism” vs. “Solidarity”. I believe these are just terms adopted by our white counterparts that don’t necessarily move them to do anything but helps them not to feel guilty for doing NOTHING! Dear White People Season 3 airs August 2nd. Will you be watching?
