5 Tips to Keep Your Comfy Clothes From Looking Like a Casual-ty

Hey sis! Listen, these past 9 months have been a pandemic within a pandemic. With everything that has been going on in this world the last thing I want you to have to worry about is how your clothes look!

So I’m giving you 5 things you can do to keep your “pandemic” clothes from looking like a hot mess!

  1. Incorporate bright colors! I know a lot of us have been working from home and you still may be. But I promise you when you add colors to your looks it will brighten your mood! You can wear your dark colored leggings but add a bright top or even some bright, fun socks to your look.
  2. ACCESSORIZE!!!! This is the key to any look. This will take your outfit to a whole new level. I am an advocate of accessorizing. Of course, it has to be done right. And the right way is YOUR way. It can be subtle or bold.
  3. Add something that gives a professional or polished look. This can be something as simple as a blazer. If you feel like a blazer is too much when you’re working from home choose a colored or printed button down shirt over a tank, roll your sleeves up to a 3/4 length and walah! You can also add some statement shoes. These DO NOT have to be heels. Some cute & funky flats or slippers are fine!
  4. Don’t just dress from the waist up. In my opinion to feel and look your best you must complete your look. This means “get fully dressed sis!” Besides, when you get up to walk away from that virtual meeting for a minute and you forget to put your camera on pause, we can see what you’re wearing below the waist! Don’t get caught slipping.
  5. Last but definitely not least, make sure your clothes aren’t wrinkled. Don’t look like you just hopped out of bed. Add some steam to your clothes before putting them on. A well put together wrinkled look is a CASUALTY!
